Background & experience
Learning through
doing.
Aerodynamic design and analysis is my career focus. Laboratory fabrication, mechanical design, industrial work, and student leadership provide the broader engineering experience behind it.

Aerospace Lab Assistant
Mississippi State Aerospace Department
I support laboratory operations alongside the laboratory engineer and student engineers, helping research professors and student teams turn designs into hardware.
- Train students and researchers in equipment selection, machine operation, and fabrication.
- Work across CAD/CAM, CNC and manual milling, turning, welding, composites, and laboratory maintenance.
- Coordinate parts, specifications, shipping, and external sourcing.
- Built an offline Python/Kivy prototype and developed Access/VBA interfaces and SQL queries around the laboratory engineer’s initial database; ongoing Access development has been handed to a coworker.

Machining & Repair
Small jobs with practical lessons
These assignments are part of my laboratory experience rather than standalone design projects.
- Graphite components
- CNC-machined supplied components to approximately 4 mm thickness for the physics department, checking dimensions with calipers.
- PEEK tension specimens
- Ran the laboratory engineer’s CNC program and deburred the specimens for tensile testing.
- Turbojet wind-tunnel fixture
- Milled and deburred a cable-clearance slot in an existing circular mount to support a researcher’s test setup.
- Shop-vise adjustment mechanism
- Programmed the CAM and ran the CNC machining for the separate locking component designed by the head laboratory engineer. I also hand-designed and manufactured the adjustment nut and handle, using turning/threading and fourth-axis CNC machining for the nut’s hex head and handle hole, with guidance from Brandon Warner. Together, the parts restored the vise’s rotational adjustment and locking.
STEP geometry for CAD inspection. The 2.5 MB ZIP includes both parts and the nut drawing; native feature history and CAM are not included.

Formula SAE Leadership
Aerodynamics Section Lead · 2026 competition season
Bulldog Motorsports
I led the aerodynamics section for the 2026 competition season, from May 2025 through May 2026. I was a team member from January 2024 to May 2025 and returned to a member role in May 2026. I led 10 core members, with participation reaching 30 early in the season. I managed meetings, schedules, a $5,400 section budget, sponsor coordination, and contributed to oversight of the team’s $100,000 budget.
I introduced structural and manufacturing concepts, reviewed teammates’ designs, and worked directly through tooling and fabrication. Mathew Saffle led front-wing aerodynamic analysis; Carlos Medina Gutierrez led rear-wing aerodynamic analysis; Kinsly Burelson developed mounting designs. Their contributions are credited on the project pages.
Training members and mentoring my successor helped keep the section’s capability moving beyond one season. My ongoing work includes open-source CFD learning, airfoil screening, aerodynamic target development, and a two-person load-measurement capstone.

- Helped audit 800+ records-retention boxes and reconcile physical contents, identification, and shelf locations with the inventory.
- Organized keys and built Excel/clipboard tracking using 5S principles; sustained adoption was not verified.
- Observed engineering reviews of equipment failures, repairs, utilization, and corrective actions.
- Supported facility maintenance and operator-facing information improvements.
